We are excited to announce the launch of our first ever March MAZness fundraising initiative in support of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute (the “MAZ”) and the University Hospital Foundation.

For the month of March we will be donating 20% of all our retail sausage sales to the MAZ. To be a part of this campaign and help raise funds for the MAZ all you have to do is purchase a pack of Fuge sausages (or 2, or 10, or 20) during the month. Every package of sausage sold during the month means more money raised for the MAZ. Our delicious sausages can be purchased online at ww.fugesausage.ca for pickup or delivery, onsite at our storefront (6736 99 Street NW, Edmonton) from 8am – 4pm Tuesday to Saturday, or through one of our retail partners @italiancentreshop

The MAZ is the leading heart institute in Western Canada and has the best and brightest healthcare team to care for the most complex and chronic cardiac patients. The MAZ means a lot to the team at Fuge because it’s where our co-owner Brad Smoliak (@baldsmo) underwent a life-saving operation in 2019 to receive an artificial heart (Ventricular Assist Device or VAD). Brad was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent his first heart surgery at 11 days old at the University of Alberta Hospital. That was followed by another major surgery a couple years later at the age of 5. Fast forward 47 years and Brad was in late-stage heart failure, he needed a transplant but his body couldn’t support it. Instead of a transplant the amazing medical team at the MAZ fit Brad with a VAD to replace his failing heart and it is because of the skilled team at the MAZ that Brad is
with us today.
